JBM Packaging is celebrating an important milestone: the grand opening of a new building dedicated to packing solutions like filling, kitting, inventory management and fulfillment! When added onto our package design and manufacturing capabilities, these services allow our partners to choose a single supplier for all their packaging needs. That means no more juggling multiple partnerships, no more shipping product components from place to place just to be assembled and warehoused—no more sweating the small stuff.
The dedicated contract packaging facility is an investment in our next chapter and a glimpse into the future growth of JBM Packaging. Let’s take a look at how it all came together.
A Business Expansion, Minus the Space
The contract packaging arm of JBM Packaging first launched in a rented space in the Queensgate neighborhood just west of downtown Cincinnati. While the central location was a plus, it was offset by a lack of room to grow. As the business increased, so did the need for space to operate equipment and store components for packing solutions. That space quickly began to run low.
Not only that, managing operations across the two locations created unnecessary travel, delays and disruptions. Driving to and from our main headquarters in Lebanon took about 35 minutes without traffic.
We began looking for a new home. Fortunately, we didn’t have to look far.
New Site Secured for Better Packing Solutions
About a mile from JBM Packaging headquarters, a walking and cycling path winds between the road and several acres of farmland. Nearby, a developer identified an 11-acre site with enough space for the new 52,500-square-foot facility we would need right away, plus the potential to accommodate future growth in packing, filling and more.
The location would allow JBM to bring contract packaging, kitting and filling closer to our core paper packaging operations. Investing in a new build would allow creation of a facility intentionally designed for those services.
JBM President and CEO Marcus Sheanshang saw the opportunity and locked it in.
Beams Up, Posts Down: Building the Ideal Structure for Custom Packaging Services

Before construction could begin, the site had to be cleared and prepared. As excavators moved across the property in September 2025, temperatures cooled and crops were harvested from the surrounding fields. The open land began its transformation into our company’s next chapter.
With the site prepared, we kicked off an ambitious construction schedule and excitedly watched the quick progress. The floor was poured, followed by the building’s 28-foot-tall exterior walls. Steel beams were installed across the top of the structure to support the roof.
With the shell in place, the construction crew began creating spaces inside the building, including a 35,000-square-foot seed storage room, conference rooms, staff dining spaces and the areas designed for packing solutions like kitting, filling and inventory storage.
What started as an open field was becoming a purpose-built operation that would improve contract packaging capacity by approximately 50 percent.
With the main structure complete, work shifted to mechanical systems. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC were installed in workspaces to support comfort and production needs. Each decision, from the natural light to the engineered workflow and climate-controlled spaces, was made with long-term operational needs in mind.
Move-In Ready—And Just in Time
Within a short 10 months, the building was prepped and ready for move-in. We closed the doors to the Queensgate location for the final time and moved all the remaining equipment and products to Lebanon. Some filling equipment had been temporarily residing at JBM headquarters nearby; it was also transferred to the new facility.
The timing couldn’t have been better. Our existing space was bursting at the seams, and everyone was ready to have the room and the people they needed to operate more effectively.
Packing, Filling, and Celebrating!

In September 2026, Sheanshang officially cut the ribbon to open the doors to the new JBM Packaging location at 1245 Kingsview Drive, surrounded by team members, community partners and local leaders. A few members of the local media even joined us!
While the event marked the building’s completion, it also marked something special in our history—a new chapter of growth and evolution at JBM. We first opened our doors as an envelope broker more than four decades ago, and we’ve grown and evolved to meet customers’ needs since then.
Today, JBM not only designs and manufactures paper packaging but also provides package filling, kitting and other custom packaging services—with unlimited opportunities for growth.
We look forward to this next chapter of serving our customers, investing in our people and creating Better Solutions, Better Lives and a Better World!
